First of all, I want to say thank you for all the support yesterday! It was amazing to have so many new people come to my blog! It would be really awesome to see every one of you back here today! I am still catching up on responding to everyone and getting around to visiting your blogs. I should be all caught up by the end of today or maybe tomorrow.
Yesterday was the 15th so Mr.Elliott is another month older now. TEN! Ten whole months! Double digits! Wow, what a big boy. His fish pillow photo shoot was last minute last night so he was grumpy. We kept it short. I also want to apologize for his dirty pajamas. He had all sorts of messy meals yesterday and it shows.

*EATING* This could be a whole post in and of itself. Long story short, he's not breastfeeding anymore, at all. His nine month appointment scared me to much and sent me into a downward spiral of doubt and guilt. I do not feel bad about weaning though. He is now getting a mix between formula and donated breast milk! We're quickly running low on that though and so soon he will be all formula. I'm okay with that though. He's healthy and we'll find out how much he's growing in a couple weeks. The last time I nursed him was last week and every time I latched him on he bit me really hard. So, I decided we were done. He wasn't nursing enough for me to even bother trying to get him to not bite. I figured it was a sign.
Other than milk though, he eats everything we put in front of him. He's a champ when it comes to eating solids!

*SLEEPING* He's made great strides in sleeping this month now too! He now sleeps through the night more often than he doesn't. Usually he goes down without to much complaining which is good too. Occasionally he'll get up once in the middle of the night for a bottle or a diaper change. These are quite rare though. A couple nights this week he even wanted me to rock him to sleep, but I didn't mind. It was really nice. He goes down right around the same time Miranda does which we'll round to 8:00pm. Then he normally doesn't get up again until 8:00 the next morning. These times vary though. Today he didn't get up until after 9! (Though to be fair he was up at 2:00am for a bottle and a massively poopy diaper. Ew!)
For naps he still is taking two. I've been trying to convince him to go down to one, mainly because his timing for his second nap stinks! Some days I can keep him awake until after lunch and some days I can't. Even on the days I keep him up he occasionally still wants his short second nap. Either way we're on a two-working-out-way-down-to-one nap kind of schedule.

*ACTIVITY / MILESTONES* Not to much to report here. He still drags himself along for crawling. Pulls up on everything. He can climb stairs now, which is oh so fun. *eye roll* He can't stand without holding on to something, certainly no steps, he doesn't even crawl with his belly off the ground. No talking yet. He babbles all the time but no real words of any kind. Not even Mama or Dada. He won't sign back to us either, which is pretty frustrating for me. I've been trying though so maybe he'll just start signing one day. Who knows? The thing he does the best these days? Get in trouble. He always crawls straight for wires, remotes, cell phones, dog bones, etc. Anything he shouldn't have, he wants. Anything he should have, he wants nothing to do with. Typical baby.

*CLOTHING* Not to much different here either. He wears 6-9 month and some 12 month stuff. 12 month stuff is still pretty big on him though. Diapers are now size 4. That's new. Shoe size is a 2, almost 3. He has a pair of 3 brown shoes that I love to put on him. They fall off pretty easily though.
*TEETH* Two. Still only two lonely bottom teeth. However, I think there may be new additions coming soon. I hope?
See him at one week, one month, two months, three months, four months, five months, six months, seven months, eight months, and nine months.
What a cool post (and series). I wish I'd done something similar with the Babby but her development and weight gain were all so wonky due to prematurity that it would have been weird. Not that I didn't document, but I didn't do it in an organized way.
ReplyDeleteAw, that's okay Christa! I didn't do anything nearly as organized and fun as this for my first child. So, no worries!
DeleteHe's almost as big at the big fish pillow...
ReplyDeleteI will have to go back and read the scare at 9 months about feeding...
My oldest stopped at 9 months all of the sudden, refused it anymore.. I found out I was pregnant the next week...
My middle ate NOTHING but brreastfed, no cereal or crackers... until he was 12 months and I was getting sick, so I had to wean him.
I always thought about doing a monthly photo thing with each boy, bu was always too busy. KUDOS to you for making the time!!

DeleteThat's pretty amazing exclusively breastfeeding for twelve whole months! Good for you both! Sorry to hear about you getting sick.
I am super busy too! Often his fish photoshoot is a couple days off. Oops!
He is in the Same size diapers as Vicki lol!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAw! Well she's a special peanut princess! Miss you guys!
DeleteOk, so I didn't even MAKE it on here yesterday, but Happy LATE SITS day. LOVE that last pic of your son- such a cutie. My husband's family is really big into fishing and all things "fishie", so I might steal that idea from you, lol. My youngest is almost 14 months and I could TOTALLY see him in those pics. :-)
ReplyDeletePlease feel free to stop by my blog anytime. I'm actually about to go check out out more of your posts, so til next time...

Aw, thank you! Yeah, my husband and his family are big fishermen too! That fish pillow was bought for my daughter when she was little! I finally found a use for it! Hehe! Thank you so much for visiting! I look forward to checking out your blog as well!
DeleteAw, he is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! I think so too. Hehe! Love that you stopped by!
DeleteIs it bad that my first thought was AWESOME PILLOW! That my second thought was oh look at him army crawl! I hope not, because clearly the boy has a future in the crawling and fishing fields.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stephanie! His father is an avid fisherman and a prior service Marine, so I'm sure he'll be thrilled to hear this!
DeleteThank you so much!
