I feel like I'm far enough along in my pregnancy now to claim that this is actually a baby belly. In reality, it's mostly just my fat that looks all round and baby-ish. I haven't gained any weight yet so I suppose baby has to be taking up some of that room. I figured I had to give in at some point and start taking pictures. I'm past my own personal halfway point since I'll be delivered at 36 weeks. At this point I only have 19 weeks to go. It's exciting and nerve-wracking all at the same time.
I'm trying to take things fairly easy during these next few weeks. Trying to de-stress a bit and do some meditation. I want to make it to 24 weeks without anything going wrong. After that the baby is considered viable and I can at least stop worrying a little bit. Apparently, Little O is about the size of a turnip or approximately the size of my open hand. Getting bigger and stronger by the second. I'm sure all this wonderful holiday food is doing wonders!
My next appointment is December 20th which is when my big ultrasound will be happening. Adam and I have decided that we do want to find out the gender but instead of finding out that day, we want my doctor to write it down inside of a card which we won't open until Christmas morning. I think that will be such a fun and wonderful way to find out Little O's gender. The tech at my NT scan predicted boy, so we'll have to see!
Other than the cold I've been fighting, I'm feeling pretty good these days. I have my Zantac which I'm allowed to take for heartburn and I'm a very happy woman now. I can feel more and more flutters more often which is pretty exciting. I can't wait for the movements to get more frequent and stronger. What a comforting way for my baby to let me know it's okay in there.
For right now though, I'm going to enjoy my husband's company as he's going away for the next week. He'll be up in Massachusetts trying to bring us home a deer. I used to not want him to, but now I definitely do. Venison is delicious, more healthy than cow and we'll have a fully stocked freezer for quite some time. Ah, how things do change.
I hope all my readers had a very happy and tummy-filling Thanksgiving!
