Eight months old already!! I apologize for his outfit choice in the fish pillow pictures this month. I didn't remember to take them until he was already in his pajamas and sleep sack. Oh well, you get the gist. Luckily, Adam was around to help me this time so the photo shoot went much better than last time.

*EATING* -We're stopping with the baby food now and going to table food only. I still have a few jars left in the cabinet, but when those are gone we won't buy anymore. He loves to eat and does so with a lot of gusto! There isn't anything this kid doesn't love. He gets yogurt mixed with baby oatmeal every morning. Cheerios, puffs, yogurt melts and any other finger foods I can find throughout the day. Nobody usually sits down for lunch here so he misses that meal. Dinner he gets whatever we're having and his finger eats. He loves it all! He still breastfeeds the majority of the day although I've been letting Adam give a bottle of formula at night occasionally and sometimes I'll take a bottle out in public with me because he's not the best at nursing in public.
*SLEEPING* - Elliott is off and on in the sleeping department. Some nights he sleeps straight through, other nights he's up once or twice. The worst is when he wakes up for playtime in the middle of the night. However, the routines are all still the same no matter what. Once he's ready for bed I put him in his crib with his ocean sounds blaring and I give him ten minutes. If he's still awake after ten minutes I go in and figure out if there is anything the matter. Usually he'll nurse again for just a little while and then I do it again. If he wakes up in the middle of the night I wait ten minutes before going into his room. Then I try once to get him to go back to sleep without picking him up or nursing him. This only works every once in a while. I give him another ten minutes and then I go in and get him. I nurse him and put him back in his crib. I keep things calm, quiet and as dark as possible. Regardless of if he wants to play or not, he goes back in his crib. He can party it up in there all alone and I go back to bed. Usually he'll go right back to sleep though. Naps are easier now too as long as we're either home or on the go. At home, same deal, ten minutes in his crib and if he's still awake I bring him back downstairs until I feel like he's tired enough. He goes down pretty easily. At night, I can usually get 6 hour stretches from him which is pretty good in my book! Occasionally it's more, occasionally it's less.

*ACTIVITY / MILESTONES* - Elliott still can not hands and knees crawl, but he drags himself all over the place with a purpose. Just last week or so he started being able to pull himself up on things. Not cool. While I don't wish him to stay an infant forever, I wish he would slow down. I see friends with babies who are what I affectionately call 'lazy'. They are slow to grow up and I envy that. I wish he would slow down. I'm glad he's strong and growing up healthy but he may or may not be my last baby and I don't want to rush through any of it. He sits like a pro now but can't get himself to a sitting position by himself.

*CLOTHING* - Still the same. 3-6 month pants (although my neighbor needs the ones I borrowed back for her son now so I might graduate him to the next size of these soon) and 6-9 month onesies. Size 3 diapers. All his sleepers are 6-9 now too.

*TEETH* - Still only the two on the bottom, thank goodness. No definite signs of new ones coming through yet.
