If you would like to read a 'must-have' list that would make any normal, non-millionaire, or fully sponsored mother laugh, then please click here. Normally, I like Danielle's blogs but lately she's just one giant advertisement. It must be nice to have all these wonderful and expensive products just show up at your door at no cost. I wouldn't know. I didn't know blogging was *just* about the free stuff. It seriously makes my stomach turn to read things like this. I added up how much all that stuff cost and I got to a little less than $5000. What? FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR CRAP YOU DON'T *NEED*!?! I just used a calculator for a babies first year and even after checking off just about everything on the list it came to a little over $8,000.
Really, all a baby NEEDS for its first year is food, diapers, clothes, and loving parents. That's the basic of the basic. Pretty much anything else is extra. If you own or will be riding in a car, you'll need a car seat. If you walk everywhere, you'll want a stroller and/or baby carrier.
To call a list like this 'must-have' is ostentatious, at best. If she had just said 'highchair', 'stroller', and 'breast pump'. I would have respected the list more. The fact that she would list such specific, ridiculously expensive items is disgusting to me. Judging by the comments, there are a few who agree with me.
I used to be a fan of hers, but I now I know she's all about the sponsors and selling out. Who really wants to read a blog like that?
