Remember that back pain I blogged about? Well, shortly after I wrote that entry I started violently throwing up non-stop. I couldn't even keep water down. So, after some phone calls to family to find care for Miranda first, I called my OB/Gyn to ask what I could do to ease my discomfort. She suggested that I head to the hospital to be checked out and make sure that everything was okay. Normally that wouldn't be an issue for someone, but Adam takes our one and only car to work, my mom's car wasn't running at the time, my best friend was working and my mother-in-law had just taken my daughter for me. On top of that, it was snowing! Hmm... well, I am so incredibly blessed that when I put out a cry for help on Facebook it was responded to immediately. My neighbor was my angel and she took me in to the hospital. She even waited with her two-year-old son for hours until she knew I was going to be okay and had another ride home. What a sweetheart!
Anyway, they checked me into the hospital quickly and got me hooked up to the monitors. They checked me out and after some time they determined I was okay and sent me home. Adam had just arrived to pick me when I walked out into the main lobby. He took me home and I took a nap because I was exhausted. When I woke up, I saw that my doctor had called and left me a message. When I called her back she said that some testing showed that I had a bladder infection which when coupled with my awful back pain could mean that it was spreading to my kidneys. She wanted me to go into the hospital for a few days to be put on IV fluids and an IV antibiotic. I immediately had horrible flashbacks to my pregnancy with Quinne. I really did not want to go back into the hospital, but I of course I had to.
And so began three days from hell.
