Yesterday I went to the mall with Nicole and Miranda. She was absolutely *amazed* by the mechanical butterfly above Rainforest Cafe. It was neat to see the world through her eyes and know that in her mind, there was nothing in the mall as cool as that butterfly. She had to say goodbye to it many, many times over. It really brings you back down and makes you realize just how new this world still is to her.
I love that she is getting more and more verbal by the day. She is so smart! She can repeat just about anything you ask her too and is learning her colors now. I really want to work on letters and numbers with her as well since many kids her age seem to know at least some already.
I see some signs that she's getting ready for potty training but I'm not going to start pushing it yet. She let me know yesterday that she needed to poop but I wasn't thinking and didn't catch on until after she had pooped. She's really good now about telling us when she has pooped so that's a good sign. She goes up to us and says "Poop! Change!" then goes and lays on the floor waiting for a diaper change. It's very cute.
I think it's crazy that she's going to be 2 in less than 2 months now. It makes me sad but happy all at the same time to watch her growing up. I am also thankful that she is still such a happy, easy-going child. I hear fellow mothers complain about kids that throw tantrums all the time and have reached that terrible two stage. I haven't seen any evidence of that in her yet. Does she throw tantrums? Yes. Does she whine? Absolutely. But I never have a day where I think "OMG she is so terrible today!" There is always a reason behind her mood and I know that. She's either tired, hungry or bored. She is never, ever naughty just because.
I cant believe she's going to be 2 either! It's crazy because I feel like I just saw you guys and she was newly born. But that was a couple years ago hahaha.I didnt notice the terrible two's with Nora until recently. EVen still, I try not to claim that title over her for fear that it will become worse. She's ornery and hard...er...but still fairly easy. So dont worry!!! Enjoy reading your updates!
