Mall trip
Today, we ended up going to a different mall with Miranda. She was so funny. Everywhere we went she tried to say "Hi!" to people and get their attention. Anytime she could get someone's attention she would give them her most flirty smile. One woman made her laugh by making loud popping noises with her finger. She was so sweet. When they wouldn't look she would just yell "Buh-bye!" and wave. When we walked into New York & Company they were playing some hip-hop stuff and Miranda started dancing. We watched an episode of Oprah not to long ago that showed really talented kids. Well, one of the kids was a break dancer and now every time she hears that kind of music she rolls around on the floor trying to break dance. It's the cutest, funniest thing ever! I wish I had a way to get videos on here so that I could show you. It's really comical when she tries to spin on her head like that kid and then comes up whining because it hurts her head. We stopped at the food court to get some grub and Miranda accidentally spilled her milk all over herself which made us have to buy a new outfit for her since she was soaked and reeked of milk. Luckily my friend LOVES clothes shopping for her. After lunch we did let her ride on the mall carousel and she laughed the entire ride. So cute. When we stopped at the play place in the middle, Miranda tried so hard to make friends with the kids. But, because school is out it was filled with much larger children and none of them wanted anything to do with her. Poor thing. She kept running up to Nicole and I, grabbing our hands and asking "Play?!" But, we couldn't go play with her and it broke her heart. She'd slink away quietly pouting and go try to get another kid to play with her. She isn't verbal enough yet to go up to someone and ask "Will you play with me?" but you can tell that's what she wants to say. Eventually she got slammed into at the bottom of a slide and it was time to leave that area. From there we went to Barnes and Noble and let her play in the kids section there. It was much quieter and less crowded so she happily played with the books and train table. A mom with her older twin boys came over and Miranda was finally able to make friends. She ran over to the stuffed animal display and grabbed two little soft lambs and handed one to one of the boys and said "Share!" It was the sweetest thing. The kid looked at and looked like he was thinking "What do I want this for?" and gave it right back. Miranda loves meeting new people. She certainly is a little social butterfly. She'll run up to anyone, anywhere and give them big hugs. She has and has never had really any "Stranger Danger" sense. I really should try to teach her but for now I just keep her within my sight at ALL times. I try not to hover but I make sure I can always see her or know she is contained somewhere.
