Job loss

Well, you know what they say don't you? There is only one way to go once you hit bottom. Up. Adam and I are pretty much at the bottom...can we start going up now?

Adam was laid off on Monday. Correction...he was surplussed. So...again I ask, "Now what?" We spent all of last week job hunting. I had one job interview at a temping agency that did not result in me having a job. Adam and I have probably sent out our resumes to every corner of this blasted state with no luck. We do have a lot of friends and family on our side though so hopefully we'll be able to make it through this rough time without too many troubles.

Tomorrow we have a WIC appointment so hopefully that goes over well. We have all the applications filled out for state assistance (i.e. food stamps, cash assistance, state health care etc...) so all we have to do now is drive to the center of Hartford to get that processed. (YUCK!)

Another good thing is that we have a daycare spot all lined up for her. Luckily my good friend and neighbor has an in-home daycare. Miranda should transition well because we go over there frequently so she knows the kids and everything. Plus it isn't too expensive for full-time which is another great thing.

So, that's what's been going on in the Orlowski residence. Wish us luck...

  2. I'm so sorry to hear Adam was "surplussed"! Things have got to turn around from here on out. Congrats on the day care placement, and I'm sending you job hunt luck!
