Yesterday was a day of a couple big changes for my little family. First of all, during my morning walk I tripped over the dog and fell and skinned my elbow and knee. That was a super fun way to start my day.
Then, when Miranda came home from school she overheard Nicole and I talking about buying earrings and proceeded to ask to get her ears pierced. That was a fun shock to me! I explained to her everything it entailed, including having to clean it three times a day and the pain that would be involved. She understood and decided she wanted to do it anyway. So she tagged along with us out shopping and ended up with some lovely Hello Kitty earrings.
She did extremely well! I was so thrilled for her that she wanted it and went through it, quite bravely! She didn't cry or even flinch at all until after both ears were pierced. Then she let loose a few tears but she recovered quickly and she was very happy and proud of herself afterwards. I am very proud of her and she's been doing really well letting me clean them.

When we got back, Adam and I had been discussing shaving Elliott's head because his hair is so crazy and uncontrollable. So since Miranda had her big change I decided Elliott needed one too.
My kids both look so grown up now! It's crazy how the little things make a big impact on their appearances.
Today was a very laid back day in comparison. Elliott though decided to start the day by dumping a small bottle of shampoo on his head that was left here by a friend. That was fun. He needed a rinse and an outfit change all before 8:00am! Oy. Then as the day progressed, we spent all day outside he covered himself head to toe in dirt. So much in fact that when I took his shorts off a huge pile of dirt came with it. It was gross and he went straight into the tub before dinner. I just thought it was kind of funny that he started his day so clean and ended it so dirty.
