2012 is gone and 2013 has arrived. 2012 had its ups and downs. In the world, big things happened.
The summer Olympics were held in London.
Our Curiosity was sent to Mars.

A man jumped from space.
A presidential election was fought and won.
My home state was both hit with Hurricane Sandy and then the Sandy Hook tragedy.

Major events left us in awe or in shock. Our hearts all wept for families who lost loved ones.
2012 in the Orlowski household was fairly mellow. Elliott went from such a baby still to a rough and tumble little boy. He stopped nursing in January, turned one in April, started walking (finally) in August, and ended the year by switching almost completely to cloth diapers! Miranda changed a lot too. She went from a carefree four year old to a school attending five year old! She lost her first two teeth shortly before starting school and it was like the beginning of losing her innocence. She has been doing really well at school and I can tell she's learning a lot. I just wish I could have kept her sweet and little for just a while longer. There was also the tiny detail of us buying our first home in May. We had a big party in September party to show off the house and somewhat celebrate my birthday. That was a lot of fun. In November we had to have a new oil tank installed because our old one was to old to hold oil anymore. All in all, for us it was a pretty great year with no complaints. I'm really looking forward to what 2013 will bring us.
The last thing I want to add was something I saw on Facebook this morning. 2013 is the first year since 1987 to have all four digits be different numbers.
