Playing in the Snow

We spent the first day of the year playing out in the snow with the kids. Yesterday Adam had put together their brand new swing set that his parents had bought them for Christmas. He chronicled the process of putting it together, and today we let them fully get acquainted with their new toy. Here are some pictures and the video for your enjoyment.

Right before our big snow, I discovered that we had a squirrel in our backyard that was different from all the rest. I found him pretty unique and it spurred on as the name Unique New York or just New York for short. This is the best picture I have of him/her right now but I'll try to get a better one someday.

The backs of his ears are all white. I think that is just the coolest thing! So, for Christmas, Adam bought me this:

A squirrel feeder!! This is to ensure that New York and his family member stick around and I can keep them fat and happy. Hopefully, I'll be able to tell you some fun New York stories in the future.

  1. Your kiddos (and dog!) are such cuties! And I'm super-jealous of your squirrel feeder. Curtis gripes whenever I feed the squirrels from our back deck because he says it attracts other animals too - like the raccoons that tried to get into our attic through the roof. Oops. :)

    1. Yeah, I love my squirrel feeder. We haven't had any problems with other critters yet, but if our area was notorious for them, I might not have put it up. So far it's only been squirrels going at it. It helped that I named a squirrel and became somewhat attached to it first. lol Thanks for visiting Rita! I'm honored that you stopped by!
