Blinded by the Light

We survived the epic power 'outrage' the likes of which will never be seen again (I hope). Thankfully my best friend in the whole wide world had power the whole time and let my entire family and pets invade her tiny 1 bedroom condo. What an angel! I was very thankful to have had a safe, warm, familiar, happy place to go. The kids adjusted fine as well. Miranda has stayed over there many times and thought that she was on vacation. Elliott doesn't really mind where he is as long as he gets fed, changed and played with. He even teased me with a couple nights of decent sleep!

When I read on Facebook on Friday that power had been restored, I immediately sent Adam home with part of our belongings. We had brought a lot of stuff with us to Nicole's house and it was going to take more than one trip to get it all back again anyways. By the time Adam had made it back to the house, the power was off again. *AHH!* It came back on after a little while, thankfully. Saturday he came back and got the rest of our stuff and us. I was grateful to Nicole for opening her home to us, but I was ready to go home.

The power went off and came back on three more times throughout the rest of the weekend. It's finally been on for over a day now so I think (I hope) I can officially say that it's on for good now. It was a relatively easy week for my family but my thoughts, heart and prayers go out to all the families that didn't have such an easy time dealing with the power being out.

I have spent the last two days doing some major power cleaning around here. It has made me feel a lot better. There is some major stresses going on in my life right now and it feels good to have some control over something. I hate uncertainty. I hate the feeling of my life slowly spiraling out of control. I just wish things would get better and stay better.
