Sleep

After spending some time with another baby recently, I decided that I needed to try and put Elliott to sleep on his back again recently. Wednesday was day one and I would say it was fairly successful. He took a nap on his back and went to bed sleeping on his back. Shortly after midnight however, he woke up whiny. He didn't need to eat or anything, he was just whiny. I held him a minute, gave him his paci and put him down on his stomach. He went right back to sleep. I'll keep trying though. He's super close to being able to roll from his back to his belly anyway so I think as soon as he learns how to do that it won't matter which way I put him down anymore.

Thursday I tried again. He took a short nap on his back and woke up happy from that. For bed I tried to put him on his back. He stayed awake for almost two hours just being awake and kicking. He never once was unhappy or fussed. I picked him up walked around the house a bit, put him back down on his back. He kicked and played. I knew he was getting sleepy though so I picked him up again after putting on clothes that were warm and fresh out of the dryer. As soon as I held him to my chest and gave him his paci his eyes immediately closed and he went to sleep. Poor little dear. So, I didn't have the heart to lay him on his back after all that. Oh well, we'll try again soon.

  1. Both Amelia and Tabitha slept better on their bellies...If he is close to rolling, I wouldn't worry too much about it...
