Adam stayed with me until they had wheeled me into recovery. The medicine made me feel extremely nauseous and I ended up getting sick a couple times. Ew again! Once I was in recovery, Adam went out to make phone calls and check on our son. I had a nursing and a nursing student keeping me company there. I was there for a little while until I could move my toes and legs. I still had the epidural in though, so everything was extremely numb but I was able to move them with effort.
As soon as I was moved into my room they wanted to wheel me to the NICU to go see my baby. Since I couldn't use my legs yet they took me bed and all. My poor little man was hooked up to a machine called a CPAP that delivers pressure into his lungs and pretty much forces him to breath, extra oxygen, and an IV.

It was extremely hard and heartbreaking to see my little baby like that. Adam and I spent some time with him. I asked Adam what he thought we should name our little boy. He wanted to know what I was thinking. At the top of our Top 10 list was Malcolm Elliott but I just wasn't feeling Malcolm. I really didn't want to do another 'M' name, thought it might be confusing and plus it just didn't seem to fit. (Never mind the fact that if we have another child he would be 'Malcolm in the Middle'. >:P) I really liked Elliott though. I also was really liking Sawyer but Adam only liked it as a middle name. I suggested Patrick Sawyer but that just wasn't working either. Adam suggested Elliott Sawyer and so his name was born. I think it suits him extremely well.
** Welcome to the world Elliott Sawyer Orlowski! **
