Okay, so it's not officially here yet. It's trying to peek out behind all these dreary clouds. It's still extremely wet outside but I'm hopeful that the ground will dry out and the sun will shine on Saturday making it a beautiful day for a BBQ party. *fingers crossed*
Yesterday Maverick went to the vet. I was a little nervous about this appointment. I was afraid the doctor was going to yell at me for buying a dog from a pet store and that he was going to have a million diseases or something else seriously wrong with him, because don't all puppy mill dogs have something wrong with them? (According to all the books . . . ) Nope, this puppy was given a 100% clean bill of health and both the vet and the tech *loved* him. They both commented a few times on what a good dog he is, since he was so very well-behaved and extremely out-going. We found out a lot of good information that we took home to digest. He was given two shots: rabies and his distemper-combo shot. We found out he does in fact have a microchip like the store said, and we were given his number. (We immediately registered him as soon as we got home.) That gives us a huge piece of mind! Let's hope we never need to use it. They gave us a free dose of both heart worm and flea/tick medication to use next month since we already acquired a dose for him this month from a very good friend. The only part of the appointment that went 'badly' was when they trimmed his nails. He did not enjoy that at all and he screamed bloody murder! The tech said that shepherds don't like having their feet touched and huskies like to cry about everything. It was pretty funny.
All in all, the appointment went extremely well and I was able to breathe a big sigh of relief. Now, to get him in puppy obedience classes. :)
I hope it's drying up. I can't wait to see pics of Miranda at her birthday party!
