What did I learn/ How did it go?
A day late on my blogging, but that's okay. I had this screen open all morning yesterday but nothing came to me. Yesterday the challenge ended but I still had one last handwashing to do today since I didn't get it done last night. According to the rules I needed to hand wash any diapers used on Sunday. I did that this morning and they are currently hanging outside on the line, because OF COURSE the sun comes out after the challenge is over. (GRR!)
As far as what I learned or how it went, I think it went well and I am grateful for having the experience. It's nice to know how cheap diapering really can be, even if the process does take a little more effort. If I ever need to pass this information on to someone who I think it could be truly useful to, I will also be grateful for that. While the challenge had it's difficulties, I didn't find anything impossible.
I did miss my modern pocket diapers, my washer and my dryer so I am thrilled to be back in the swing of that. Challenge accepted! Challenge completed!
My Husband's Perspective:
I personally did not find this to be a
difficult challenge, although I did not do any of the actual washing
myself except for helping to adequately ring them out. I did put
together the bucket washing rig for my wife which was both cheep and
simple to make. I also did not have an issue with diaper changes.
After quickly learning a couple of different folds it was not a big
deal to fold a flat and change the kid. I found this to be a cheap
and effective way to diaper a child. Although it does require more
effort than other forms of diapering and washing it would work
especially well for those who are less fortunate and can not afford
to put a fresh disposable diaper on the child every time it is
needed.
