Random Monday Thoughts

  • In general, life has been really, really good lately. I honestly have no complaints. The kids have had some hard days lately, but I think we're over the worse and getting back into a more normal routine.
  • Since the new year, Adam and I have decided that we are going to eat entirely vegan every Monday. It's been going really well actually! I think it's fun and it really stretches what we eat, believe it or not! We've been making different meals and it sparks up new taste buds! I've been cutting out my milk intake all week, I only use almond or coconut milk now. Adam and the kids still drink regular milk though (except Mondays). Tonight for dinner we are having black bean burritos and brown rice. There will be a veggie to of course, but I'm not sure what that will be yet.
  • In general, for myself, I'm trying to cut down my dairy, meat and sugar intake. I've already lost 4 pounds just by doing that. I will of course, still eat all of the above, but I'm just trying to lessen them and be more conscience of what I put into my body. I've been watching a lot of documentaries on Netflix about the food we eat and it has really opened my eyes. I don't think I'm ready to completely cut out stuff but I'm willing to try to eat less with the goal (for me) to cut them out almost completely someday.
  • As you have probably heard by now, we switched Elliott over to cloth diapers. We are now 100% using cloth except for when he slept over his Nana's house one night. Other than that we have not used a disposable in well over a week! We even switched him over to cloth at night after using the specific kind of insert that my cousin suggested. It's been working out really well for us. I love it! I'm still waiting on the diaper sprayer I ordered to arrive, and then my life will be so much easier. Right now we are spraying them off in the shower
  • I've been watching a lot of mom vloggers on YouTube lately. We don't have cable so I watch YouTube clips when I have a few minutes to myself. It's been really neat to see into the lives of other moms. I can pick and choose what I want to watch and I learn a lot from other mothers. I think YouTube is my new go-to search engine. Depending on the topic, I'd much rather watch a video on something than read an article or blog post.
  • Speaking of vlogging, Adam has started making his own these days. For Christmas I bought him a camera that he uses almost exclusively for vlogging. I think it's a Canon Elph or something like that? I dunno. It's what he wanted and he loves it. I told him that he's not allowed to show me on camera to much until I've lost some more weight though. I have a good 50-60 pounds I want to lose. Click here to check out his channel

I think that's about it for now. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
