This year we decided to add a new Christmas tradition by building a gingerbread house with Miranda. I bought a Willy Wonka kit so that it would be easier on me.
The night before while Miranda was in bed, I had Adam put the house together because I knew it would need time to dry. He ended up using pins to hold it together while the icing dried, otherwise it probably would have fallen apart.
The next day, we got everything all set. I plopped Elliott in his high chair so that he could watch.
He was pretty happy with his crackers and sippy cup. Miranda sat at the table, all ready and raring to go!
Maverick was pretty bored with the whole affair and decided to take a nap.
Miranda was excited that she was so happy that she was going to be able to play with candy!
Adam was in charge of the icing and was deep in concentration as he decorated the roof.
Elliott snacked away while we worked...
There aren't anymore pictures of the in between process. I dived in to help after Adam finished up with the icing part.
Here is the finished product however!
Miranda had an absolute blast and while the project was slightly messy, it will definitely be worth repeating next year.
Trying a piece of the house...
