One Month Appointment

Yesterday was Elliott's one month well visit. The plan was for me to walk downtown but since it was raining and yucky out, I found a way out of that. (A big shout out to my mom.)

I arrived pretty early, hoping that I'd be taken back early. No such luck.

They weighed and measured him first. He came in at eight pounds even and 21.25 inches long. He's already longer than Miranda was at her two month appointment!

Afterwards the doctor came in and checked him out. He thought that he looked great! Everything is right on track and he was happy with his growth. I waited around for a very long time for them to give him his Hep B shot. The nurses unfortunately forgot about us and I had to give them a gentle reminder. He took his shot very well though, only crying for a minute or two before calming down on his own.
(I love the nurse who comes in and gives the kids their shots. She seems so sweet, has such a gentle voice and a calming demeanor. Then she pokes them with needles and makes them cry. What a job.)

We talked about his liver tests a little bit. A phone call I had received last week revealed that he needed more extensive testing done to make sure that everything is okay. This time, instead of taking the blood from his foot like they have been, they had to get it from his arm. Adam was there and holding him. I was preparing myself to take Miranda and go walking the hall while they did this because I wasn't going to be able to listen to him scream. He shocked us all and didn't cry at all when they stuck him. What a little trooper.
I'd hate to think he's getting used to all the poking and prodding. Poor little man.

We'll find out in about a week or so, I'll keep you all updated.

Please leave a comment! I can only talk to the voices in my head for so long before people think I'm crazy.
