Laid Back Tuesday

Disney on Ice was absolutely amazing!! Miranda was in awe the entire time. She barely made a peep, just sat there with her eyes and mouth open wide. She was able to spend a little bit of time with everyone (we had a huge crew of us, for one kid) which was really nice. I loved having her with me and being able to get into the show with her. I don't have any pictures or anything though. I feel very uncomfortable taking my big Nikon with me to events like this. It's not great for up-close shots anyway since I only have a zoom lens at the moment. Someday I hope to have a small point & shoot for occasions like this though. She loved seeing Mickey Mouse and his crew the best. I thought the whole show was pretty cool and very well choreographed.

Only a couple incidents in the audience to note. First there was a mom with her little girl sitting directly behind us. The girl started screaming, crying, kicking - all out tantrum mode - the second the show started. I give this mom props for trying to stick it out for a good 10 -15 minutes or so. She finally got up and left. I think it would have been more appropriate to have her daughter throw her fit out in the hall rather than in my ear, but I think the mom was hoping the show would finally distract her? Not sure. Either way, they never came back so I think it was just a bad day for them, unfortunately. The other incident was when Adam was distracted by watching his mom play with Miranda and accidentally spilled a small amount of beer on the women sitting in front of us. Adam apologized profusely and grabbed them a bunch of napkins. Unfortunately, one of the ladies was very rude about the whole situation. She made it seem like the worse offense in the world, going on and on about her cashmere and suede clothing. She even tried to go so far as to ask Adam for money to get her clothes cleaned. What a snob! It was just a small amount of beer and it was genuinely an accident. Nothing else came of the situation after that though, thankfully. We were able to enjoy the rest of the show, though I don't know about them. I didn't care to ask. Miranda came away with all sorts of goodies, thanks to a certain Grampy who just loves to spoil his granddaughter. After the show all of us headed to Margaritas to have an early dinner. That was fun and delicious. It was just a wonderful afternoon out with Adam and his family. I couldn't have asked for better!

When we got home we were even able to spend a few minutes with my brother and sister-in-law. It was her birthday on Sunday and I was glad to be able to see her and wish her a happy birthday. Then we ended the night in an even MORE wonderful way by watching the Packers beat the Eagles!! I hope they can make it all the way this year, but I hope that every year. A Patriots vs. Packers SuperBowl is the wish of my brother and husband. We go to their SuperBowl party every year and we always have a blast. Last year we even won the betting pool!

The plan for today is just sit and relax and snuggle in for the storm tonight. Depending on road conditions in the morning, Adam might have to take the day off. We're supposed to be getting more than a foot of snow so it should be fun. Miranda and Maverick will love it! I'll have to get some good pictures of them playing in the snow.

Stay safe and warm everyone!
