Today I am 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Last Tuesday, I had my first prenatal appointment. Everything looks to be going well so far, which is very reassuring. The little 'gummy bear' (as we've been calling it) had a strong heart beat already and was growing right on track. The doctor and I talked a long time about my history and what the plan for this pregnancy would be. I love my new OB as she is a very level-headed woman and willing to work with me through all my concerns and questions. She seemed to agree with how things were done with Miranda's birth and wants to follow the same course of action this time around as well. My due date is May 7 but I will be delivering by scheduled c-section around 36 weeks. That puts this babies birthday somewhere around April 9. My next doctor appointment is October 25. I will be just over 12 weeks then. The week after that I am scheduled for a NT ultrasound up at the hospital where I will be delivering. My OB seems to want to be cautious and do all the prenatal testing that my insurance will cover. I'm okay with that, as I want to make sure that everything is okay with our little gummy bear.
I'm a little sad for Miranda having to have her birthday so close to her siblings, but I'm hoping this will mean that they grow closer and have a strong bond with each other. I can tell she is ready and anxious to be a big sister. I hope that a 4 year age gap will be enough time for her to have been an only child. I hope and pray that she will remember her sibling's birth fondly and that there will be little feelings of jealousy or rivalry. I hope that she always knows how much she is loved and we will always have a special bond together. Miranda and I have been through a lot together and she is such a special, amazing little girl.
As for me, I've been feeling pretty good for most part. I've been more tired than I usually am, that's for sure, but the nausea hasn't been too bad this time around. It's certainly different than what I experienced with my girls. So far, I get hungry quite easily and quickly. If I don't eat something right away, I get a stomach ache and sometimes feel a little sick. Once I sit down to eat though, I can only eat a little bit before I start to feel full and sick again. So far, I haven't had any vomiting or anything of the sort. I get dizzy quite easily and feel extremely achy and sore after working. I've been trying to drink my required amount of water, take my vitamins and try to keep my snacking choices healthy.
I'll keep you all as updated as I can. I think I'll start taking weekly belly pictures soon so that you can see my growth. I'm not showing yet but I'm sure something will start changing soon. I was terrible about that with my previous pregnancies. I only have a couple pictures of me pregnant with Miranda and none at all of me with Quinne. Let's hope I'll be better about it this time around. :)
Congratulations on the pregnancy! I am so excited for you. I hope everything keeps going smoothly!
