Life with a Pup

It feels really good to have a dog back in this house. Life seems much more normal again.

Everyone is in love with him, but how could you not be?

Miranda and Maverick are fast becoming best friends. It's very heartwarming. So far, he's gentle with her but we've had to put him in his place a few times. This morning he especially tested my authority but in the end, I won. He's getting the hang of potty-training. He's had two accidents so far, both were our fault and one was in his crate over night. That resulted in a bath for him and laundry for me. What a fun start to my day! He already goes to the door and whines a bit when he has to go potty and knows that he must sit and be calm before coming back into the house. He's incredibly smart and picks things up very quickly. That is both good and bad for us, but for now it's good. I have a lot less free time to sit and relax now and I actually prefer it that way. I have to vacuum twice a day ever since he's been here to keep undesirables out of his mouth. Miranda's learning to keep her toys picked up and out of his reach. No casualties of teething yet, but I'm sure they'll come.

All in all, we're just enjoying him. He's been a joy so far. His first vet appointment is still two weeks away, so I'll keep you updated on that.

  3. Very cute!

I wanted to be the first to make a smart ass comment about the beer. Mine was gonna be, "That's what happens when Miranda doesn't share her beer with the dog."
