Rainy days

Yesterday and today have been damp and cloudy. Not very motivating weather...

Yesterday we dropped Miranda off at Grammy's house while Adam, Nicole and I took Maverick to the dog park for a few hours. He had a blast! It was very muddy out there. He found a Golden Retriever to play with and they were rolling each other around in a mud puddle. The Golden got way dirtier than Maverick did. Afterwords, Nicole and I dropped Adam and the dog off at home. Maverick received a desperately needed bath. Nicole and I went out to Manchester and did some shopping. Shopping without Miranda is always nice, although she is a good shopping companion. I didn't buy much. Just a few little things here and there. We did make a quick pit stop to The Dog House. I wanted to make sure none of Maverick's siblings were still up for sale. They weren't, of course. I learned though that there were originally ELEVEN puppies in his litter though. Yikes!

Night time hit and Miranda gave us a really hard time going to bed. It involved a lot of screaming, crying and she even slapped my face. Crazy! Goes to show you what happens when she doesn't nap during the day. We eventually got her calmed down and she went to sleep knowing that we love her no matter what. Adam and I relaxed and ending up watching Top Gun. It was neat to watch the movie that has Maverick's name sake in it. Adam and I hadn't seen it in a while, and watching it made me realize we named him very appropriately. He acts just like Tom Cruise's character.

This morning, Miranda and I spent a lot of time doing learning activities. We did Do-A-Dot letters as suggested by my friend Shannon over at Tot School. Miranda loved it. We did so many. I got a lot of pictures. We also did some Brain Quest questions. I found a set for 2 - 3 year olds at Barnes and Noble yesterday. They're a little to easy for Miranda but she is learning some new words and it's great for conversation starters and expanding her knowledge about certain activities. All in all, a thumbs up. We also worked on her Kumon workbooks some more. We also colored, and I wrote out her full name for her to see. Then it was time for lunch and nap, which she went down very willingly for. I tried to catch up on my DVR some more while she slept but was still unsuccessful. Oh well.

The sun is starting to peek through now so we spent some time outside after nap, but now Adam is cooking up dinner and we're watching The Letter Factory. I anticipate a night of cleaning up a bit and other neglected chores.

  2. Poor Panda. I'm glad she got some much-needed sleep. Bella took a swing at me the other day and I had to leave the room to keep from letting her see that I was laughing. It was so funny! I mean, she didn't connect, but her little face was so furious and she was out to hurt me! Luckily that hasn't happened before or since.

Also, your day of memory for Quinne sounded really nice. I wish we could have been there to support you and show her our love.
